Tech Rep

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Effective use of technical selling skills and product knowledge of industrial minerals and their applications.
  • Sell consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and Customers of the various solutions the company offers to their business issues.
  • Develop annual business plan in conjunction with Director of Sales and Marketing, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, focusing on territory revenue and profit growth.
  • Develop new business opportunities which support established long-range growth targets.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of customer pricing and proposal dynamics.
  • Develop and maintains a CRM database, qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling on business owners, email, and networking.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up.
  • Maintain contact with all clients in the Region to ensure high levels of Customer Satisfaction.
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values.
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships with all support departments.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial minerals and/or specialty chemical sales preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Strong technical acumen.
  • Demonstrated success in sales planning, execution and growth.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Reside within Southern California or surrounding area
